  • Prayer Shawl Ministry shares God’s love

For many years Tyler Memorial United Methodist Church has provided shawls for those who are ill, recovering from surgery or just going through a rough time. These shawls are prayed over as they are being made and then placed on the altar for the Pastor and the church congregation to recognize and ask for God's blessing upon them to provide comfort, warmth and peace to those in need.

Anyone who likes to knit, crochet, quilt, or sew is invited to use your talents to provide these much needed items. There is always a need for shawls, lap blankets, and baby blankets. This ministry provides the yarn, or you can purchase your own choice and be reimbursed. If you know someone in need if one of these items or would like more information about making something please contact Marilyn Burchwell.(Marilyn Burchwell.)

  • Visitation Ministry

The Visitation ministry team is vital for our shut-ins. They spread goodwill and blessings to members of the congregation who are unable to get to church on a regular basis. It is important to let our longtime members know that they are loved and missed and that we care for them, If you would like to be a part of this ministry, please contact Kathy Arbaugh.

  • Cancer Care Ministry

Volunteers are needed to bake bread and provide a jar of jam or preserves from time to time. If you are interested please contact Kay Creech.

  • New Children’s Ministry

The last few months have brought a blessing of young life into our church family. Our youth group is thriving and we have recently started seeing a great group of younger children getting involved. See a need; fill a need… so starting this November we will be offering “United”a new children’s ministry open to 1st - 5th grade students. We are excited to have Brandy and Todd Coxson leading up this group of youngsters and we look forward to seeing what God has in store for the future of Tyler Memorial! They will be meeting every Sunday at 5:00 pm. They will focus on a Bible lesson, with crafts and games. The children will also be involved with service projects and fun get togethers outside the walls of the church.

  • Men's Food Kitchen

For years the United Methodist Men of Tyler Church have been operating a Men's Food Kitchen on the fourth Monday of each month. They have blessed the lives of so many who have come through our doors with providing them a hot meal. The men provide devotionals for those to take home and also offer the opportunity to leave their prayer requests with us and to pray with them. The Men's Food Kitchen are in need of some more volunteers. If you are interested in becoming involved in serving the Lord through this ministry, please contact Sam Creech.

Due to Christmas falling on the fourth Monday, the Men's monthly food kitchen will be on December 18th from 3:30 to 5:30.
