Upcoming Events

The flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping and everything is turning green.

Spring is in the air and Tyler Memorial Church is abuzz with excitement! Between Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, the end of the school year and every other event that we pack into our crazy schedules, we know that May is going to keep most of us on the move. So, Sunday, May 20th we will be enjoying a special 6:00 pm evening service in addition to our traditional morning service. This casual yet powerful worship experience will offer us a time to relax our minds and revive our souls during this beautiful and busy time of year.

No matter how chaotic life gets, don’t forget to stop and smell the roses.

    God is Good!

  • Youth Group News

Todd and I are excited about being given the opportunity to work with the Misfits, our 6th through 12 grade youth. We look forward to getting to know them and helping them in their journey with Christ! We have several events we are working on, one of which is the return of Youth Sundays. Misfits Youth now meet every Sunday from 6 – 7 pm.

  • JAM to Build Bunk Beds for Church Camp

During the winter months, Jackson Area Ministries will be building 44 bunk beds for a church camp outside of Rio Grande, Ohio. Our bed expert from Cincinnati will be assisting us in starting this project correctly.  We need four teams of 5-6 persons to complete the project. Each team will build 10 unassembled beds. JAM is in the process of identifying the four teams to volunteer two days each. Hopefully the work will start sometime in late January. Either a church group or individuals who enjoy woodworking are invited. Contact our office at 740-286-1320 if you know of interested persons and we will make arrangements for them to join us.

The United Youth and Misfits Youth will be meeting at Shawnee Bowling Alley on Sunday, February 18th. The United will be meeting from 4:30 – 5:30 pm and the Misfits will meet 5:30 – 6:30 pm. Both will be bowling and enjoying pizza!

    See you then!

  • “25th Annual Chocolate Fantasy”

    Scioto Valley Habitat for Humanity

    Dear Covenant Church Friends,

Scioto Valley Habitat for Humanity will be hosting the “25th Annual Chocolate Fantasy” fundraiser

on Sunday, February 11th, 2018 at St. Mary's Family Life Center, 40 East Fourth Street, Chillicothe, from 12 noon to 3:00 pm. The tickets are $6.00 for four (4) luscious servings of chocolate desserts.

We would also like to invite your congregation to participate in the event by providing chocolate desserts – cakes, pies, candies. We need 2,200 individual servings to be sure to have enough for the 500+ chocolate lovers who attend “Chocolate Fantasy” each year.

The desserts need to be at St. Mary's Family Life Center by 12 noon on Sunday, February 11 or between 12 noon and 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 10. Desserts that will keep for three or four days may be dropped off at the Habitat office, 171 E. Fifth Street, Chillicothe, on Wednesday, February 7th between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm and Thursday, February 8th between 1 pm and 5 pm. If you need pick-up of your dessert please call the Habitat office at 740-779-9734. Leave a message if you call when the office is closed and your call will be returned as soon as possible.

Your support in the past is very much appreciated. Our fundraisers through the year are an important part of the funding necessary to build simple, decent, affordable homes for families in need in Pickaway and Ross Counties. Anything you can do to help this year's “Chocolate Fantasy” be a success will also be greatly appreciated.

We hope to hear from you and hope to see you there! God bless you!
